Cleveland State University invites applications for one full-time, tenure track assistant professor position in economics beginning August 19, 2013. A Ph.D. in economics is required for this position. Applicants must complete their Ph.D. by July 1, 2013 to be considered for appointment. The successful applicant must have a field of specialization in macroeconomics and monetary economics. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and research. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of quality or potential quality in teaching and research, strength of letters of recommendation (especially as they pertain to teaching and research excellence), the quality of the applicant's background and graduate training in economics. Applicants invited for on-campus interview will present current research in a faculty seminar and give a separate demonstration of teaching effectiveness.
Duties include teaching 16 credit hours spread over two semesters.
Teaching responsibilities consist of undergraduate and M.A. level courses consistent with the applicant's field(s) of specialization and training. Research leading to publication in academic journals/books is required for tenure and for promotion to associate professor.
Participation in University governance is expected.
