The George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-accruing, contract faculty position as Professor or Associate Professor of the Practice of International Affairs for a three-year renewable term beginning in academic year 2013-2014. Academic rank will be based on qualifications and experience. This position will be based in the Elliott School's Global Gender Program and affiliated with GW's new, university-wide Global Women's Institute. This faculty member will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conduct research, and engage the broader academic and policy communities.
Basic Qualifications: Applicants must have a graduate degree in a relevant field. This could be an M.A. or Ph.D. in one of the social sciences, public policy, or another relevant discipline or interdisciplinary field; or a professional degree such as a JD or MD in a relevant area. Applicants must have at least seven years of relevant professional experience (e.g., in government, nongovernmental organizations, international organizations, or the private sector) related to global gender issues in developing countries, including security and conflict problems.
