Two Assistant Professors: one in Public Policy/Urban/State & Local Public Finance and a second in Economic Theory.

The Department of Economics invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions to start in August of 2013, most likely as new assistant professors, subject to budgetary approval. Completion of the requirements for a PhD before or soon after date of hire is essential for both positions. Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and normal service requirements. The department offers both a PhD and a stand-alone Applied-Economics MS degree together with two undergraduate economics majors. For both hires we hope to strengthen research and PhD teaching, but candidates should demonstrate a willingness and ability to teach in any of our programs.

One position is for a public policy/urban/state and local public finance economist with specific interactions expected with the College's DeVoe Moore Center. For information about the center, see . Preference will be given to those whose work indicates the potential for interacting with DeVoe Moore Center faculty from other Social Sciences departments.

The second position is in economic theory, with a requirement that at least a part of the candidate research program include the topic of decision making under risk and uncertainty.
Application Instructions:

Submit curriculum vitae, research papers, evidence of teaching experience, and at least three letters of recommendation through the Econ Job market web site [] for either position.
