We invite applications for a senior (hard money) faculty position in health economics beginning August 2013, with a preference for applicants with interests in the field of health information technology (HIT), broadly defined. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in economics, health services research/policy, public administration/policy, or a related discipline. The ideal applicant will have an accomplished record of publication, external funding, leadership in the field, and the ability to mentor graduate students.
This position is associated with a larger endeavor to hire multiple health researchers across campus and is part of a three-position HIT cluster hire. These new hires will study economic/policy issues surrounding the development, implementation, and use of HIT.
The Andrew Young School is ranked among the top 20 policy schools in Policy Analysis. The school houses four academic departments (including Economics and Public Policy) and outstanding research centers in health policy (the Georgia Health Policy Center) and fiscal policy, among others. The Georgia Health Policy Center has a specific interest in partnering to engage in externally-funded research and to apply research to the analysis of real world health policy issues.
