Applied Microeconomics, Econometrics
The Department of Economics invites applications for one opening at the level of assistant professor in the area of applied microeconomics. The department is well known for its emphasis on applied microeconomic research, especially in public economics, social welfare, health or environment. Candidates must have completed (or expect to complete prior to appointment) a Ph.D. in Economics. Successful candidates would be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in statistics, econometrics, and one of our applied fields in public economics, health, energy or environment. Candidates also are expected to have outstanding research potential, along with the capacity to supervise Ph.D. student research, and have a strong desire to publish papers that develop or use cutting-edge econometric methods for public policy analysis. Preference will be given to candidates using econometric methods of program evaluation and nonparametric methods applied to policy issues in our major fields and other related issues (e.g., environment, energy, health, social welfare). The search begins immediately and will remain open until the position is filled. The school/department seeks candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.
