The Department of Economics at Appalachian State University invites applications for one tenure-track, nine-month position at the assistant professor or associate professor rank beginning August 2013. The appointee is expected to maintain an active research agenda leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, to provide high quality instruction, as well as participate in service activities. Instructional duties will include introductory and upper-level courses in the fields listed above. The standard teaching load is nine hours per semester. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by August 2013.

Appalachian State University is a member institution of the sixteen-campus University of North Carolina. Located in Boone, North Carolina, the university has approximately 17,000 students, primarily in bachelors and masters programs in both liberal arts and applied fields.
