Christensen Associates is an employee-owned economic research and consulting firm that specializes in regulated, or formerly regulated, industries (including electric and gas utilities, communications and transportation firms, and the U.S. Postal Service); and in providing litigation support and expert testimony. Our research projects are firmly grounded in microeconomic theory, and we maintain high scientific standards. Our work involves considerable interaction with clients and among members of our staff. Our projects frequently involve the development and analysis of large databases, which can include data from surveys that we design and implement.

We are seeking Ph.D.-level candidates with strong skills in applied economics, including applied econometrics. Proficiency with statistical software such as Stata, SAS, or R is essential. The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written reports, is very important. Responsibilities may include: conceiving and/or conducting analyses; mentoring and overseeing junior staff; preparing written reports or testimony; presenting results; business development activities, including preparing written client proposals; and project management.
