The Department of Economics of the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and its research foundation (Fipe) invite applications from strong candidates in all fields within Economics for a Research Fellow position. USP is a leading University in Latin America, and its Economics Program ranks first nationwide according to the Brazilian graduate studies regulatory agency (CAPES).
Fellows are initially appointed for a fixed-term of one to three years. Full-time engagement in the development of first-rate research and teaching of at most two graduate courses per academic year in the area of expertise are required. Remuneration is competitive: 132,000 Reais (net of taxes) per year plus health insurance coverage. Fellows are eligible to become Assistant Professors at any time during this period, subject to availability of openings.
Neither Brazilian citizenship nor knowledge of Portuguese are required. USP is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Up to three positions will be filled for the 2013/2014 academic year.
