ABOUT US:
The mission of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is to safeguard the public and support Florida's agricultural economy.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
* Advise on all matters dealing with economic research, analysis and impact for the agency.
* Conduct extensive, confidential, and complex economic and fiscal analysis.
* Represent the agency in certain presentations before the Legislature, Cabinet, Commissions, task forces, and private sector groups on topics where technical expertise in economic fiscal matters is required.
* Research and recommend proposed legislation.
* Analyze and assess the effects of federal, state, and interstate projects and regulatory activities.
* Assist with preparation of statutorily-mandated reports regarding economic impact of agency rules.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in an economics related field from an accredited college or university; or
Master's degree in an economics related field from an accredited college or university, plus two (2) years of professional experience in analyzing, interpreting, and forecasting economic data; or
Bachelor's degree in an economics related field from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of professional experience as described above.
