Application is invited for a tenure-track faculty position in the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration, George Washington University, beginning in fall 2013. The position is at the Assistant Professor rank. The Trachtenberg School is nationally ranked among the top twenty graduate programs in public affairs, and is designated as a Center of Excellence by the George Washington University. We offer masters degrees in public policy (MPP), public administration (MPA) and a PhD in Public Policy and Administration.

Position Description Summary:
We seek scholars with a strong research profile or demonstrated scholarly potential in one or more of the following areas: environmental and/or energy economics; urban and/or regional economics; social policy; and/or sustainability (e.g. environmental sustainability, social and economic stability of urban areas, and/or fiscal sustainability). Applicants should have the ability to teach core economics courses in the MPP and/or MPA and PhD programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
(1) PhD in economics or related field (e.g., public policy, urban planning). ABDs will be considered but must complete all requirements for the PhD by August 15, 2013.
(2) Potential to establish a sustained program of academic research resulting in a strong publication record as evidenced by scholarly publications or works in progress.

Applications received by November 1, 2012 may be considered for interviews at the APPAM fall research conference in Baltimore. Applications received by November 30, 2012 will still be guaranteed full consideration and may be considered for interviews at the AEA meetings in San Diego.
