One year postdoctoral position at the intersection of economics, computation and health care policy. Project involves econometric analysis of a terabyte-scale data set of insurance claims to examine insurance policy design and physician referral network structure. Specific projects for the during the year will also depend on the research agenda of the post-doctoral fellow, who will work closely with the project leaders Keith Marzilli Ericson and Benjamin Lubin. Ideal candidates will have a background in health economics or health policy, technical expertise in dealing with large data sets, and familiarity with econometric and network analytical techniques. Suitable subsets of the above will also be considered. The position will be sponsored by the Boston University School of Management (joint between Markets, Public Policy, and Law and Information Systems) and Hariri Institute for Computing. Start date is flexible and could be Jan 2013 or Summer/Fall 2013, with earlier start dates preferred.
