The successful candidate is expected to teach five one-semester courses, including both advanced undergraduate courses in his or her fields as well as core courses. Candidates also are expected to advise several year-long senior thesis projects each year. Individuals interested in this position should send a detailed letter of application describing both your interest in teaching and the courses you would most like to teach in an undergraduate liberal arts college. In addition, please send a curriculum vitae, graduate transcripts, teaching evaluations, a recent research paper, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted. In your cover letter, please also convey how your teaching, scholarship, mentorship and/or community service might support the commitment to diversity and inclusion articulated in the College's diversity statement (http://www.reed.edu/diversity).
Applicants whose materials are received by November 15, 2012 will be assured consideration for interviews at the AEA meetings in San Diego. Candidates should have the Ph.D. degree by August 2013.
