The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow for its Markets, Trade and Institutions Division. The Fellow will focus on impact evaluation and applied microeconomics. This position is a two-year appointment which is renewable, depending on performance and funding. Please note that Postdoctoral Fellow appointments at IFPRI have a maximum of 3 years. This position is based in Washington, D.C.
Duties:
--conduct research on issues related to impact evaluation of institutions and infrastructure and on applied microeconomics.
--work on impact evaluation, mainly empirical micro econometric modeling, and household and intra household analysis.
--help to research and test ways in which applied mechanism design can help to promote factor markets development in developing countries, through the use of experimental economics methods.
Requirements:
--Ph.D. in Economics
--applied econometric skills
--experience in impact evaluation methods
--strong capabilities in quantitative analysis and ability to use economic theory in innovative and policy relevant ways
--experience in collecting and analyzing primary survey data
--excellent English communication skills
--ability to travel extensively;
--goal-oriented and creative team player
