The Department of Economics at Shippensburg University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2013. Candidates should have teaching and research interests in either (1) applied microeconomics or (2) monetary/financial economics that focuses on the connections among financial markets, macroeconomic policy, and business cycles. The teaching load is a mix of principles courses and upper-level electives.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics from an accredited institution conferred by August 2013 and be able to provide evidence of excellence in teaching and research.
Review of applications will begin on November 15, 2012 and continue until the position is filled. Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the January 2013 ASSA meetings.
As part of the on-campus interview, a demonstration of teaching effectiveness and evidence of commitment to understanding diverse populations will be required as part of the successful on-campus interview process. Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, proof of eligibility to work in the U.S., and sufficient course enrollment and budget allocations.
