The Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has an opening for a candidate with a Ph.D. degree in finance or economics. The economist position is in the Risk Model Research & Bank Surveillance Group. The department is seeking candidates pursuing research in financial risk modeling, financial markets, and asset pricing. The position requires publishing in academic journals and supporting the Bank's supervision function as related to large, complex financial institutions. Responsibilities include providing technical and analytical support to bank examiners in areas such as risk measurement, risk management, and reviews of banks' internal models. Research experience of two or more years is preferred, but new Ph.D.s will be considered. Salary is competitive. The Federal Reserve is an equal opportunity employer.
