Pittsburg State University (PSU) Department of Economics, Finance, and Banking seeks a tenure-track economics faculty starting fall 2013 pending budgetary approval. Preferred fields are regional economics and monetary economics. The successful candidate is expected to teach money and banking, principles and intermediate theory, and electives (nine hour per semester load). Other expectations include fostering relationships with the community via regional economic forecasts, etc. Candidates interested in building an applied business and economic research center are encouraged to apply.
Ph.D. in economics is required. Teaching experience and record of scholarly work are highly desired. Depending upon prior experience, rank will be granted at either senior Assistant or Associate Professor level.
The department is located in the Kelce College of Business, an AACSB-accredited business school offering undergraduate programs and MBA. PSU is a publicly supported regional university serving southeast Kansas and adjacent regions in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. It serves 7,200 students and is located in Pittsburg, a community of 21,000.
