The Financial Research Division of the ECB is interested in hiring PhDs in economics or finance. The Division has two main responsibilities: i) It conducts research in financial economics, including work on financial institutions, financial markets, market infrastructure, financial stability, European financial integration, international financial linkages, the design of monetary policy operations, and payment systems; ii) It provides research-based policy advice, including the development and maintenance of empirical models, tools and analytical indicators in the areas mentioned above.
Successful candidates will be expected to conduct and publish high-quality research. The division would particularly like to expand in the fields of empirical banking, monetary policy transmission, supervision and regulation of financial intermediaries, and asset pricing.
