Postdoctoral fellowships are available starting January or July, 2013 within University of Maryland's Pharmaceutical Health Services Research Department. The fellowship provides multidisciplinary, advanced training to economists, health services researchers, and clinicians. Fellows engage in health economics and comparative effectiveness research (CER) activities funded by the NIH, other government agencies, foundations, and private corporations. Training involves mentored research experiences with faculty and may include coursework in CER, pharmacoeconomics and health services research. Strong quantitative skills and experience with large database analysis are required. Fellows may also gain teaching experience. The fellowship prepares fellows for positions in academia, government, the pharmaceutical or insurance industries, and consulting. Fellows receive a competitive salary and benefits. The application deadline is December 5, 2012 for July start dates (October 31 for January) with screening interviews at the AEA meetings.
