The Economics Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment beginning August 1, 2013. Candidates must be committed to outstanding teaching and continuing scholarly activity. The department's priorities include international economics, industrial organization, gender economics, and public economics. The successful candidate will teach five courses annually, including statistics or econometrics, an economics course focusing on Latin America after 1800, and an interdisciplinary course within the Latin American Studies Program. The successful candidate will be able to conduct research in Spanish and/or Portuguese and possess basic conversation skills in either language. Review the "Faculty Position" link at .

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Economics or expect to complete the degree requirements by August 2013. Priority will be given to applications completed by November 16, 2012, but applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Interviews will be conducted at the A.S.S.A. meetings in San Diego, January 4-6, 2013.
