The Macroeconomics and Growth Team in the Development Research Group of the World Bank is seeking to recruit an economist.
The Development Research Group is the central point for development policy research at the World Bank, and economists in the Macroeconomics and Growth Team work in areas including macro perspectives on development, economic growth, international finance, institutions and development, and macro-micro linkages. Economists are expected to maintain an outstanding scholarly publication record, as well as be able to provide relevant policy advice and technical expertise to colleagues throughout the World Bank.
We are considering new PhDs as well as more experienced candidates with relevant post-doctoral academic or non-academic experience. We seek candidates with (i) strong technical skills; (ii) a record of -- or good prospects for -- publication of high-quality original research in peer reviewed journals, (iii) the ability to communicate technical knowledge and expertise in a policy environment; and (iv) excellent spoken and written proficiency in English.
