The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) invites applications for positions within its Monetary and Economic Department. We are keen to meet economists with a PhD (or who are close to gaining one) in the above areas, a strong interest in policy-oriented research and analysis, and demonstrable ability to identify and address complex policy issues, together with excellent writing skills in English.
The BIS serves as a bank for central banks and as a global forum for financial and economic cooperation. Based in the heart of Europe, we work to support global monetary and financial stability via wide-ranging banking, economic research and policy coordination activities.
Join us and you can expect to gain a real overview of the global financial system, plus the chance to get involved in research that deals with key monetary and regulatory issues. As your career develops, you could find yourself working directly with central bankers and influencing their decisions, and you will operate within a truly international environment alongside colleagues from 50 countries.
We offer competitive conditions of employment, an attractive lifestyle in Switzerland and the chance to analyse and even shape financial policy and regulation.
