Eckerd College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Economics, tenure track position, to start in September, 2013. Ph.D. in Economics required. Teach seven courses (3-1-3) per academic year, including Principles of Microeconomics, Statistics (fall, spring), and upper level Economics electives, to support a strong Economics major and preferably also an Environmental Studies major. The ability to offer electives attractive to both areas is a real plus; Environmental Economics, Natural Resource Economics, of particular interest. Also, Introductory Economics of Environment for Environmental Studies students. The January Term offers an opportunity to travel abroad with students and teach special topics courses. Participation in an interdisciplinary, values oriented general education program is required, including a regular rotation in the two semester freshman program. Eckerd College, the only independent national liberal arts college in Florida, has a tradition of innovative education and teaching/mentoring excellence.
