The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, starting Fall 2013. We seek candidates in the fields of macroeconomics and monetary economics, money and interest rates, or financial markets and the macroeconomy. The successful candidate will be expected to teach macroeconomic theory, as well as courses in money and banking, monetary policy, or financial economics/corporate finance. Bowdoin values a strong commitment to research, a promise of successful scholarly engagement, and dedication to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment. The college provides generous research support and the regular teaching load is two courses per semester. Ph.D. in hand by date of appointment is expected, but advanced ABDs will be considered.
