The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of a Director of Revenue Estimation/Senior Economist.

Incumbent filling this position will be responsible for supervising financial economists and analysts; completing tax research, considering methodologies to be used, time-frames needed for completion of projects; forecasting revenue, providing analysis of legislative proposals, applying advanced statistical and analytical techniques; conducting work in the presence of a developing data warehouse for research purposes and based on models of economic and revenue systems that are theoretically and empirically valid; drawing policy conclusions and making related recommendations based on research activities; presenting findings and making recommendations to management, the CFO, Mayor, Council of the District of Columbia, Congress and others in briefings, hearings and related public forums.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience performing the related duties. Also, applicants with a degree in theory and methods of economics, finance, statistics, public administration, and public policy, are strongly desired.
