The Department of Economics and Business at Kalamazoo College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Economics, with preferred areas of research and teaching in macroeconomics and monetary economics or a closely related field. We are especially interested in candidates who are broadly educated and can teach courses in macroeconomics, monetary and/or financial economics, and contribute to our offerings in mathematical and quantitative methods. Candidates are expected to have a high aptitude and strong interest in undergraduate teaching, a commitment to the liberal arts, and a demonstrable potential to establish and maintain an active research agenda. The normal teaching load is six courses, two each quarter. The person who holds this position will also be expected to advise students and supervise senior thesis projects. A completed Ph.D. is required at the beginning of the appointment, September 2013. Salary is competitive and consistent with level of experience and economic faculty positions at peer liberal arts colleges.
