The Economics Department at Eckerd College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Economics, tenure track position, to start in September, 2013. Ph.D. in Economics required. Teach seven courses (3-1-3) per academic year, including Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, and upper level Economics electives, to support a strong Economics major and preferably also a Management major. Courses such as Intermediate Microeconomic Theory, applied Econometrics, Labor Economics, Industrial Organization, Public Finance, Health Economics, of particular interest. Willingness to offer Statistics occasionally is a plus. The January Term offers an opportunity to travel abroad with students and teach special topics courses. Participation in an interdisciplinary, values oriented general education program is required, including a regular rotation in the two semester freshman program. Eckerd College, the only independent national liberal arts college in Florida, has a tradition of innovative education and teaching/mentoring excellence.
