The Chair of Economics/Energy Economics (Prof. Sebastian Rausch) has a job opening for a Post Doctoral position. Our chair is part of the Centre for Energy Policy and Economics (CEPE), which belongs to the Department of Management, Technology and Economics (D-MTEC) at ETH Zurich.

Our main focus is on applied economic research in the area of energy and environmental economics. We employ and develop dynamic general equilibrium models to analyze short- and long-term energy and economic problems. We evaluate energy and climate policy and develop policy guidelines.

The successful applicant should hold a Ph.D. degree in Economics and have a demonstrated interest in the topics of the chair. The preferred candidate has demonstrated through his or her dissertation a high quality of research output, ideally with 1-3 papers under revision or accepted for publication in international refereed journals. She or he is expected to conduct academic and policy-relevant economic research independently and also contribute to research projects at the chair. Expertise with quantitative work in applied economic equilibrium analysis is of particular value. The appointment includes teaching related to the areas of the chair (at least one semester course per year) and tutoring of Master and PhD students. Excellent command of English is required.

We offer an inspiring and supportive research environment in a young team. The candidate can expect to work in a dynamic and international group of researchers, on cutting-edge research issues in the areas of energy and environmental economics. ETH Zurich offers very attractive salary conditions. The department also offers an excellent location in the center of Zurich (consistently ranked as one of the world's premier cities in terms of living standards). The starting date is flexible.
