The Department of Economics, Finance and Legal Studies at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level beginning on August 16, 2013. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications. The department offers excellent research support; information about the department is available at http://www.cba.ua.edu/econ/. We seek a candidate whose areas of specialization could include: forecasting and forecast evaluation; model estimation, evaluation, and inference; and volatility estimation and forecasting. The successful candidate will develop at least one Masters level SAS-based forecasting course. Strong research productivity and high-quality teaching are expected of the successful candidate. Candidates should have the Ph.D. completed by August 2013. Candidates with experience must have a record of publishing in leading journals and demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
