Bucknell University is seeking to fill a tenure track position (open rank without tenure) in the Department of International Relations, beginning in August 2013.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach a five course annual load. The successful candidate should (1) have teaching and/or research strengths in one or more of the following areas: globalization, global governance, North-South relations, and race and/or minority issues, (2) be qualified to teach Theories of International Relations and/or Globalization, and (3) be able to teach courses that could be listed under our Development and Sustainability and/or Global Governance and Conflict Resolution tracks. Individuals specializing in the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, or West/Central Asia are encouraged to apply. Applications from individuals with strengths in critical and other non-traditional approaches to understanding international relations and international political economy are encouraged. An interest in developing interdisciplinary courses that would appeal to a broad university audience is desirable.
Minimum Qualifications
For an entry-level hire, Ph.D. at time of appointment is preferred.
Appointment at the associate or full professor rank will be considered for outstanding candidates with demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching and a record of research consistent with the teacher-scholar model.
Qualified applicants will be ABD or possess a PhD in International Relations/Affairs, Political Science, Economics, or Geography.
Other relevant interdisciplinary PhD degrees will be considered.
