CBO, a small nonpartisan agency that provides Congress with the objective, timely analyses needed for economic and budgetary decisions, has the following openings:

Macroeconomist with interests in public finance and fiscal policy, to construct and improve cutting-edge models that underlie CBO's policy analyses. Experience in building general equilibrium models and analyzing the effects of fiscal policy is a plus.

International macroeconomist with expertise in international trade and finance.

Financial Economist to develop valuation models and conduct economic/policy analyses of federal and private-sector financial activities. Specialty in asset pricing, derivatives valuation and/or financial econometrics are helpful.

Financial Modeler for a limited term to support research and policy analyses of federal and private financial activity. Applicants should be knowledgeable about the use of derivative pricing with a graduate degree in finance or equivalent and broad training in financial valuation and econometric techniques and their applications.

Positions require excellent quantitative skills and strong writing ability. CBO analysts deliver challenging substantive economics and policy work in a collegial environment that provides opportunity for research on numerous CBO relevant topics. See for more information and to apply.
