The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is seeking new or experienced Ph.D. economists and statisticians for its Compliance Risk Analysis Division (CRAD). The OCC charters, regulates, and supervises national banks. CRAD economists use statistical analysis and econometric modeling to support bank examinations that monitor compliance with federal laws and regulations including those related to fair lending, borrowers' capacity to service debts and anti-money laundering. The successful applicant is also expected to pursue an active research agenda on topics that support the mission of the OCC. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of Stata or SAS, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, strong interpersonal skills, and a strong background in statistics or applied microeconomics. Knowledge of the financial services industry is beneficial. We will be attending the AEA meeting to conduct interviews. The OCC is an equal opportunity employer.
