The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at University of Washington seeks an applied micro-economist to join the Access, Bottleneck, Constraints, Equity (ABCE) project team. ABCE project is a multi-country and multipronged project to provide quality evidence for improving the equity and cost effectiveness of health systems, and to understand the costs and bottlenecks that mediate the gap between efficacy in trials and effectiveness in real populations, especially those who are deprived and hard to reach.
The successful candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of economic theory, econometrics and statistics, along with the analytical expertise to apply this knowledge to data from complex household and health facility surveys and to initiate and implement research relevant to global health economics and global health policy. Individuals will primarily contribute to the analytic design of the ABCE project; spend their time pursuing collaboratively research, much of which is published in leading peer-reviewed journals. Familiarity with cost-effectiveness and comparative effectiveness research, and program evaluation methods would be a plus.
The Post-Graduate Fellowship opportunity combines academic research, education and training, and professional work with progressive, on-the-job training and mentoring from an accomplished group of researchers.
