UMB is actively seeking an Economist for the Kansas City, MO market.
This position will regularly provide economic analyses to the Chief Investment Officer and other related investment committees. The position will be part of a team providing economic forecasts, commentary, and assessments of the specific impact of economic trends on the financial markets.
Candidate will be involved in group presentations and responsible for some written communication. Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication, and quantitative skills are essential. Successful candidates will work in a team environment and have the ability to apply academic research to real-world issues and present concise explanations of complex analyses.
Preferred candidates will have 3 plus years of experience involving the collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of quantified data.
An advanced degree is required. A Ph.D. or pursued doctoral studies in economics, finance, or a closely allied field, and specific expertise in the fields of, applied micro and macro economics a plus.
