The Data Modeling Director oversees modeling research and development efforts for a product line, an analytical approach or across a business unit. Acts as a senior-level expert responsible for developing theoretical and/or empirical financial, economic and statistical models of a complex nature. It is expected that the Data Modeling Director will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: economic modeling, statistical / actuarial modeling, claim research and modeling, and/or related areas, and be able to communicate effectively with other modelers, line of business and reserving actuaries and senior management of business units. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and experience in any of the following areas: (a) macroeconomics, (b) insurance economics and / or (c) blending actuarial science and econometric / dynamic modeling techniques.
Bachelor's Degree required/graduate study or demonstration of advanced level of competence in a relevant discipline, such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Physics, Engineering, Epidemiology or related field with strong quantitative training. Typically a minimum of ten years of statistical modeling or related work experience. Graduate study may be substituted for some work experience.
