Organization Overview:
The Environment and Resources Division (ERD) assists federal and state environmental and resource management agencies address complex policy, management, and regulatory challenges. Our range of services include economic analysis, risk assessments, environmental modeling, regulatory and voluntary program support, and IT solutions.

Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will be the lead consultant/principal investigator in economic, financial and other quantitative analyses on environmental and natural resource regulation and policy, particularly as pertains to the Clean Air Act, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and/or energy and energy efficiency measures. The successful candidate will have substantial responsibility for performing this work, including formulating, directing, and documenting analyses.

Skills Prerequisites:
The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. in economics, environmental/resource economics, or related discipline with coursework in economics as well as statistics/quantitative methods; an outstanding academic record; and 0-2 years work experience in economic, climate change, or environmental/energy policy analysis. Excellent oral communication, writing, and analytical skills are essential.

Research or consulting experience (through employment or academic coursework) in the following areas is essential:
* Economics, climate change, environmental, air pollution, and/or energy policy
* Advanced econometric/statistical modeling
* Uncertainty analysis and modeling
Research or consulting experience (through employment or academic coursework) and skills in the following areas is highly desirable:
* Productivity analysis, technology diffusion, or industrial organization
* Building input/output and CGE models
* Statistical programming skills using SAS, R, Stata, or MatLab
Experience in a consulting business environment is also highly desirable.
International work and/or policy experience, preferably in a developing country setting, is desirable.
