The World Bank is seeking an economist to work with the Poverty Reduction & Economic Management (PREM) network in Jakarta, Indonesia. He/she will be engaged in designing and implementing an exciting and forward-thinking research agenda on poverty reduction, labor and social protection policies in Indonesia. Research findings will be used as the basis for evidence-based policy recommendations for the Government of Indonesia, with a particular focus on the provision of "how-to" advice for program reforms, systems design and implementation. The economist will also take a leading role in strengthening the technical capacities of local research institutes and government partners to carry out independent and high-quality analysis. The successful applicant will have a PhD in economics (or equivalent combination of Masters and work experience), strong analytical and econometric skills, and highly effective communication skills. This is a two-year, international hire, extended-term contract appointment based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
