This position is located in the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Office of Renewable Energy Programs, Environment Branch in Herndon, VA. The major duties of this position include:

Provides the professional economic expertise and guidance necessary to support planning and decision making related to offshore renewable energy activities, particularly natural resource economics.

Directly analyzes and/or coordinates the analysis of socioeconomic impacts from OCS renewable energy development on other uses of the OCS (e.g., commercial fishing, shipping, and recreational uses), and impacts to adjacent coastal areas in such areas of concern as employment, income, population, recreation, etc.

Serves as the technical economic expert of a multidisciplinary team, comprised of biologists, physical scientist and social scientists, who prepares, reviews, computes, and analyzes input to Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements on proposed OCS activities.

Identifies research needs for and coordinates the procurement of environmental and socioeconomic studies, including managing contract studies as a Contracting Officer's Representative.

Independently researches and develops alternative techniques for economic impact analysis.

Prepares detailed written explanations of procedures and findings, and makes oral presentations as warranted.
