Health Economist/Research Associate
OPTIMAL Solutions Group is inviting health economists and policy researchers in conducting cutting edge projects in Medicaid, Medicare, and health care performance measurement.
Responsibilities include managing complex projects at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other departments of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as well as project management, oversight of staff and project budget, providing subject area expertise, overseeing development of sophisticated data analyses, and presenting results to appropriate audiences.
Requirements:
--Extensive knowledge of the U.S. health care system, including Medicare, Medicaid;
--Experience conducting complex analyses of health care claims, medical records, and enrollment data;
--Experience directing major studies, complex projects, writing technical proposals, developing/monitoring project budgets;
--Ability to supervise/evaluate the work of others;
--Strong analytical, qualitative, and quantitative abilities;
--Experience with statistical packages such as SAS or STATA;
--Effectively communicate orally and in writing;
--Interested in data-driven public policy analysis;
--A record of peer-reviewed journal or government publications.
Education and Experience:
M.A. or Ph.D. in Economics, Public Health, Health Policy, Public Policy, Statistics; five (5) years of experience with health care systems.
