AIR Health's major clients include government agencies (e.g., U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health), private foundations, and state governments.

The Researcher/Economist will work on several projects with responsibilities that may include:
--Serving as client contact for analytical or statistical expertise
--Managing or leading projects or tasks
--Developing conceptual frameworks that guide project work
--Applying appropriate techniques to collect, analyze and report quantitative data
--Organizing and documenting analytical results and research procedures
--Preparing technical reports and journal articles and present findings to clients and to the public
--Assisting in developing and drafting new business proposals
--Mentoring junior research analysts, sharing their approaches to solving concrete problems, and providing feedback on the work of others

A Ph.D. in a social science, economics or related field and expertise in econometrics or applied statistics. Highly proficient in SAS, STATA, or R, and open to learning new statistical tools in a relatively short period of time as required by different projects. Knowledge or experience with the analysis of data collected through complex sample designs multilevel modeling, or the design of experiments and quasi-experiments. Able to apply advanced statistical methods (for example, hierarchical linear models, fixed effects analyses, or instrumental variables), and able to communicate effectively about these methods to non-technical audiences.
