The Social Protection and Labor Sector of the World Bank's Human Development Network invites applications for a short-term consultant economist position with the Labor Markets and Youth team. Information about the team is available at
http:/ The position is for 150 days, starting between mid-June and mid-July and paying roughly $290 per day net of tax. The job entails co-authoring two publishable papers on the effect of cohort crowding on labor market outcomes in Africa, with primary responsibility for the empirical analysis. the ideal applicant is either a recent PhD, or a graduating PhD student with advisor approval, from a department ranked in the top 100 worldwide( He or she has strong knowledge of labor, population, or applied micro, can independently manipulate and analyze microdata in Stata, and possesses excellent writing and interpersonal skills. Africa background is a plus.
