The Senior Policy Analyst in macroeconomics develops and uses databases and statistical models to explore leading topics in the field of public economics. The occupant conducts original research on a broad range of topics, among which are the economic effects of public policies on businesses and on the financial behavior of households. The research addresses a wide range of issues, including economic growth, entrepreneurship, capital formation, and asset creation. The occupant is a key member of the Center's tax analysis team and is responsible for participating in the preparation of CDA tax research, which often includes estimating changes in federal receipts resulting from modifications to business-related tax laws.
Education: Ph. D. preferred, or advanced graduate standing in economics or a closely related academic discipline; significant coursework and training in statistics, econometrics and knowledge of survey research methods.
Skills:
*Experience with team production.
*Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America, and the department's goals and objectives.
*Should be familiar with major statistical software programs such as EViews, SPSS or STATA, be adept at Microsoft Excel, and have a good familiarity with Internet search methodologies.
