The Department of Health Services at the University of Washington seeks to fill one full-time (100% FTE) faculty position in Health Economics at the rank of Assistant Professor WOT with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2012. ("WOT" denotes positions that do not confer tenure automatically upon promotion to Associate Professor. Subsequent to promotion, WOT faculty are eligible for tenure contingent upon the availability of funding and meeting the Department's criteria for tenure.) The position comes with responsibilities of 50% research and 50% teaching and advising. Applicants must have a doctoral degree (expected completion by June 30, 2012 is acceptable) in Economics, Health Economics, Decision Sciences, Health Services Research, Health Policy, or a related field. Ideal applicant(s) are expected to show exceptional potential to become intellectual leaders in their fields and be able to develop a successful grant track record as leader or principal investigator of significant research projects. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized research program and to participate in the teaching and service missions of the Department of Health Services. Depending on the interests and qualifications of the successful candidate, a joint appointment is possible in the School of Pharmacy (Pharamaceutical Outcomes Research and Policy Program), the Department of Pediatrics/Seattle Children's Hospital and other relevant academic units within the University.
