Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Sam and Irene Black School of Business at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College is seeking applicants for a one-year sabbatical replacement position in economics. A Ph.D. or ABD is preferred. High-quality teaching is required and an active program of scholarship is expected. The appointment will begin August 2012. There is a possibility of continuation for a second year.

Teaching Responsibilities: The appointment will be made at the rank of lecturer or assistant professor depending on qualifications. The teaching assignment is equivalent to 18 to 24 credits per academic year. Teaching includes one section of upper-level undergraduate intermediate microeconomics in the spring semester, along with two to four sections of introductory microeconomics per semester. In the fall semester there is a possibility to teach an undergraduate course in the candidate's field of expertise (not including international economics, sports economics, or money and banking.)

Research Support: Includes funded travel to professional meetings.

Salary: Negotiable and competitive with other AACSB-accredited schools of business.

Location: The College is located on a beautiful 725-acre campus, only minutes from Pennsylvania's fourth-largest city. Erie offers great recreational and cultural activities as well as modest housing costs. Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh are all within two hours by interstate highway.

The Black School of Business is AACSB accredited and offers nine undergraduate majors, the MBA, and the Master of Project Management. It occupies a new $30 million facility and is supported by a $20 million endowment, which supports undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, executive education and outreach activities, several faculty chairs, and the Economic Research Institute of Erie.
