EAFIT University � a private institution created by the principal industrial groups of Colombia and recognized as one of the country�s leading Universities � is inviting applications for a full-time permanent position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and direction of a new center of research studies in Economics. All fields in Economics will be considered with priority for candidates in Macroeconomics, International Economics, and/or Econometrics. Ideally, the candidate will have a track record of publications, fluency in Spanish and English, and a strong desire to guide and develop new research ideas. Salary is competitive. In addition to a low tax rate, Colombia in general and Medellin especially is making strong economic progress with a growth rate of 5-6 % in 2011. The newly founded School of Economics and Finance at EAFIT is specifically investing in research activities.
