The incumbent serves as a specialist in the area of environmental economics, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary group of scientists to apply standard analysis techniques and to develop new, innovative, economic methods and tools to project the effects of ecological changes on ecosystem services and natural capital at multiple spatial scales; with consideration of non-market values to inform environmental decision-making. The incumbent will incorporate economic models of human behavior into landscape-level decision-making tools, evaluate regulatory and incentive-related options for environmental management and apply valuation methods to changes in market and non-market goods.
