The Market Sizing and Forecasting Group is Intel's main economic team. It forecasts demand for PCs and other devices in which Intel puts its silicon. They track marketing and economic trends and conduct forecasts using a combination of statistical and econometric tools.
Duties/Responsibilities include:
You will use the lens of economics to develop a detailed and thorough vision of markets that are either new to Intel, or just on the periphery of its existing businesses. You will forecast units, product mix, prices and price distributions for such devices as handsets, smartphones, tablets, solid state drives, smart (Internet) TVs, digital set-top boxes,etc.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
- PhD in Economics, Applied Economic or Statistics.
- 3 year of Economist experience in the Consumer Electronics industry or a demonstrable interest in and work applicable to consumer electronics.
- Experience developing and running advanced econometric and statistical models.
- Experience in areas of applied microeconomics, macro-econometrics, developmental economics, economic geography, and quantitative and qualitative market survey analysis
- Ability to develop and explain economic models of consumer and enterprise demand and of industry supply to support company platforms, geographical business units, and executives.
- A passion for technology
