The Louisiana Workforce Commission is a nonpartisan agency leading the development of a system that delivers the workforce that Louisiana's current and future employers need. The agency has an opening for an Economist in the Research and Statistics Division, which is responsible for devising, compiling, and disseminating economic and managerial information needed for making high level economic and budgetary decisions.
Incumbent must have skills in analyzing, developing, and marketing the data products of the research units; operation of management information systems; preparation of news releases; program evaluation techniques; statistical modeling and sampling techniques including methods for conducting surveys and analyzing results.
A candidate for the agency's economist position must be able to analyze and present labor market data for LWC and partner agencies to help in developing policies, grant applications, forecast labor market conditions, trends and perform impact analysis of unusual events.
