Applications are invited for 4 positions as Assistant Professor at the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF), starting September 2010. EIEF is a research foundation, created by the Bank of Italy in 2008 that produces academic research of the highest quality standards, with a special emphasis on policy-relevant topics, and offers courses at graduate level. It provides a pleasant and stimulating research environment, the opportunity to interact with policy makers, excellent facilities and premises located in the center of Rome. Last year EIEF hired 2 Assistant Professors from 2 top U.S. departments. More information can be found at: www.eief.it

The positions offer a U.S. standard, competitive compensation package plus a research budget. Successful candidates are expected to publish their research in top peer-reviewed journals, teach graduate students (up to 30 hours per year in the first 3 years, up to 60 later on), contribute to the intellectual environment of EIEF and help run the visiting scholars program. Applicants should have high research potential and have earned a Ph.D. degree in Economics or Finance or be close to completion. EIEF invites applications in all areas of economics but particularly encourages applications from researchers working in financial economics. The appointment is for 7 years, subject to revision after 3 years. There are no restrictions regarding the nationality of the applicants.
