Faculty Positions in Economics (at Assistant Professor/Associate Professor Level)
The Division of Economics at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, was established in 1993 as part of the Nanyang Business School. In 2003, it became a major division in the newly established School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). The Division is host to the Economic Growth Centre and the Editorial Office of the Singapore Economic Review. It is composed of 39 local and international faculty members involved in theoretical and applied economics research. Faculty members have special interest in the economies of China, Singapore, ASEAN and other East Asia countries. In addition, faculty members have served as consultants to international organizations such as the United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank, and to local organizations such as the Ministries of Finance, Trade and Industry, Manpower, Environment and Health. The Division offers undergraduate training leading to BA (Hons) in Economics and offers jointly with various Schools double major and double degree programs. It also offers graduate training leading to MA and PhD. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Successful applicants can expect generous support for research including grants for travel and conferences. Assistant Professors can expect reduced teaching loads in their first year. Applicants for Associate Professorships should possess PhDs, active research agendas and proven track records in research and teaching at university level. Applicants for Assistant Professorships should have completed or nearly completed their PhDs, and should have evidence of potential for high quality research. Applicants with relevant post-doctorate training are welcome to apply. All fields will be considered but preference will be given to Economic Theory (Microeconomics and Macroeconomics) and Health Economics.
