The Department of Economics of The University of the South invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position commencing in the fall of 2008. The successful candidate will serve undergraduates through teaching excellence in a selective liberal arts college in Tennessee. Candidates at all ranks above instructor will be considered, but preference will be given to those with several years of post-Ph. D. experience. Candidates at the associate and full professor level are strongly encouraged to apply. An ideal candidate will have at least one field in international economics and be able to offer courses from the areas listed above. However, the department will consider all outstanding candidates regardless of field specialization. Applicants should have completed the Ph.D. by the end of 2007, have an outstanding teaching record, provide evidence of a productive research agenda, and must successfully pass a background investigation. Applicants must include cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching evaluations, a research paper, and at least three letters of reference by November 1. No applications will be accepted by email.
